Save the Date for our 9th annual 5K!
April 25, 2020
Location: Arboretum Shopping Center, Charlotte NC.
Run or walk with us!
Register to run or walk in either our Levine Cancer Institute's 5K or American Asset Corporation's 1 Miler. Our youngest supporters under 12 can participate in the Piedmont Plastic Surgery & Dermatology's Kids Dash, which is approximately 30 yards. The Arboretum Shopping Center will be our 5K host site once again this year. While you are there race morning or at packet pickup the day before, visit some of the restaurants and shops in the center, many are supporters of ours.
Our annual 5K is the main fundraising event for Miles Against Melanoma. All proceeds go towards raising melanoma awareness and helping to find a cure for melanoma. You can help by either making a donation to our organization or by creating your own fundraiser.
Our sponsors make our 5K a huge success! We have different levels for every type of interest. Find out how you can promote your business while making an impact in the local community and in Levine Cancer Institute by becoming one of our sponsors!
Our 5k isn't possible without our volunteers. If you are looking for a way to support us but can't run or walk in the event, this is a great option! It's also a great way for students to receive service hours. Each year we have about 100 volunteers helping to make our race a success. We'd love to have you too! We need people to help us with set-up, race day registration and packet pick-up, and course monitors. More information can be found here.
In memory of Amy Robinson
Miles Against Melanoma NC was created in honor of my sister, Amy Jo Robinson. She was first diagnosed with melanoma when she was just a junior in high school after a biopsy was performed on a mole she had removed. Her lymph nodes were removed from the surrounding area and she was in remission for over 10 years until it came back in her lungs and eventually took her life. Amy was only 30 years old when she died. Miles Against Melanoma NC is dedicated to raising the public's awareness of melanoma and funds for its research so no one else will have to suffer like Amy. Thank you so much for your support!
Please consider participating, volunteering, or sponsoring our event. Proceeds will benefit the Levine Cancer Institute and other initiatives to increase the public's awareness of melanoma and the damaging effects of the sun and tanning beds.
